Roles of the centre

The NSW IRMRC is an independent research centre based at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). It employs the researchers and staff necessary to achieve its goals and to develop innovative approaches to the management of injury risk in NSW.

The NSW IRMRC offers cutting-edge research and quality consultancy, as well as world class database management providing significant added-value to injury databases. It aims to enlarge its network of state and national funders and community and governments agencies and further develop research and inter-disciplinary links.

The NSW IRMRC offers a broad interdisciplinary approach to injury risk management in contrast to a number of its competitor’s offerings. It is the premiere research centre recognised as a source of information on risk management in Australia .

The NSW IRMRC will ensure its future growth by consolidating as centre of excellence in injury risk management research and through development of strategic links with other government agencies, stakeholders in the community, faculties and research units.
