Awards & Achievements

Associate Professor Ann Williamson together with Dr Andrew McIntosh (Safety Science) have been successful in 2005 ARC Linkage grant round for a project called "Rail Safety and Reliability: A Human Factors/Ergonomics Approach". This is a 3 year project beginning in 2006, with a total award of $350,000.

Associate Professor Ann Williamson, Deputy Director of the Injury Risk Management Research Centre (IRMRC) has been awarded a 5 year Senior Research Fellowship (Level B) from the National Health and Medical Research Council to support her injury prevention research into occupational and road safety.

At the recent Australian Conference of Science and Medicine in Sport(Alice Springs, October 2004), Prof Caroline Finch was awarded the Inaugural Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) President’s Award. “ The President’s Award was made annually by the SMA National Board to recognise outstanding service to the Federation and its members”.

A/Prof Ann Williamson was awarded the 2004 Award for Meritorious Achievement in Research by the Australian Injury Prevention Network on the 7 th Australian Injury Prevention Conference, September 2004, Mackay , Queensland .

Prof Caroline Finch was elected by the Commission for Children and Young People as the Deputy Convenor for the Child Death Review Team on 31 st August 2004 .
