Don't Get Sucked In By The Rip

is part of a research project on beach safety called The Science of the Surf being conducted by the University of New South Wales, Surf Life Saving Australia, NSW Health and NSW Department of Sports and Recreation. The project aims to develop better strategies for preventing beach drowning by helping swimmers to make good assessments of when and where to swim.

This project has produced an information campaign (the "Don't get sucked in by the rip" campaign) to give beachgoers a better understanding of beach and surf hazards and to help them understand why beach safety is important.
