Mike is a Research Fellow at the NSW Injury Risk Management Research Centre. Prior to joining the IRMRC he worked as a research fellow at the University of Sydney, and spent 5 years as an academic at Monash University, Melbourne. He has published more than 65 peer-reviewed papers in impact and blast loading, thin-walled steel and composite structures, plasticity and energy absorption, and vehicle crashworthiness. His current research includes the injury biomechanics of fatal motorcycle crashes into roadside safety barriers.
